Review: Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher

This book, is, in a word, cute.

I wanted to read this book because I am a McFly fan and anything by someone related to Tom Fletcher is bound to be amazing. And I was right. This book is an adult contemporary novel, which follows Sophie May, an ordinary girl as she stumbles upon a Hollywood heartthrob and begins and extraordinary relationship.

Sophie is the girl we all are- she loves reading and baking, has a crush on Jude Law, and does what she can to make money and get by in the small town where she lives and works. That is until she bumps into a film star named Billy Buskin and her whole world is turned upside down, as well as her emotions and everything else that comes with being in a relationship.

As a woman myself, I understood her emotions perfectly- although unlike Sophie, I don’t have a film star boyfriend.

Still, it has everything you want from a chick lit contemporary. It has love, it has heartbreak, it has sadness, it has happiness. There’s even some fashion stuff thrown in there too.
Giovanna definitely knows how to write a book, I started this last night and finished it this morning. It was fantastic.

I might be the sort who loves a soppy love story, but if you’re into that sort of thing I would definitely recomend this book. Warning though, the amount of times they mention cakes will most likely make you very peckish (i did. )

Five out of five stars.
Would re-read.

Top marks, Gi.
