In this Skulduggery novella we meet another villain, Skulduggery is capture and they have a conversation of the possibility of world domination. As usual, Skulduggery is logical and sassy and wins- although, in this case, he makes the villain cry.
The events in this short story happen between Book 1 and Book 2 in the series, and i enjoyed it as it gave me a glimpse to another of Skulduggery’s cases. Time has clearly moved on since the first book as Stephanie- now know as Valkyrie Cain- is better at magic, being- being able to throw away the villain before he attacks her. I couldn’t work out how much time but I am sure that will become clear in Book 2.
I enjoyed the story, as I feel it expands the Skulduggery universe which gives the characters more depth, especially those extra background characters we wouldn’t usually find out about. Derek Landy is a fantastic writer and i will definitely be picking up the rest of the books and short stories.
